Countdown

David Bowman

3/15/11 – T minus 13 and counting… “Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer.” — About half our stuff is packed. Our house is starting to look like a warehouse and everything feels very surreal.

3/22/11 – “Open the pod bay doors, HAL.” — My friend Ace will come and take a bunch of our destroyed-by-cats furniture and other crap to the dump. Thanks Ace.

3/24/11 – “Just what do you think you’re doing, Dave?” — Movers take all of our stuff. We are left with (approximately) 2 cats, 2 laptops, 2 sleeping bags, 1 cooler, 1 car.

3/26/11 – “I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992.” — My dad’s birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!

3/28/11 –  “Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.” – T minus 0 — Good-bye Oakland 🙁

4/?/11 – “I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.” — We live in Baltimore.
